Death of KU Architecture student Daniel S. Persons
University of Kansas Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway and Michael M. Swann, associate dean in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, released the following statements in response to the death of KU student Daniel S. Persons of towanda, who was killed in a traffic accident early Sunday morning east of El Dorado.

LEED Platinum for Greensburg arts center
The U.S. Green Building Council has certified as LEED Platinum the arts center for Greensburg that was conceived and constructed by 22 University of Kansas architecture students in the Studio 804 graduate design/build program. It is the first LEED Platinum building designed and constructed by students.

Spring 2008
Studio 804 helps Greensburg rebuild
Studio 804’s Earth-friendly arts center for Greensburg is nearly complete. But for a few last panes of glass, some daubs of paint and a missing fixture or two, the large-scale project that has trained and tested 22 KU architecture students for the past nine months now is finished.
