Students are admitted to the program by the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and are listed as students of both schools. They take architectural design studio courses alongside architecture students, complete engineering courses with other engineering students, and take courses specifically related to architectural engineering. Fourth and fifth year students typically select an emphasis area: construction management, building structures, building mechanical systems, illumination/electrical, or building acoustics in which to concentrate their studies. The Architectural Engineering Program also offers two graduate degrees.
